Property Location: The Reno Ranch Dryland Farm is just 4 miles southwest of Martin, in Bennett County South Dakota. Martin is the county seat for Bennett County, which is in the southwest-central portion of the State and offers many agricultural and service-related businesses such as feed mill, grain terminal, hardware, implement and vehicle dealers, livestock auction market, medical facility, restaurants, schools and banking, along with all the typical county government and USDA offices.  

Property Directions: From Martin SD, at Hwy 18-73 intersection, take Hwy 18 west 2 miles to 216th Avenue then South for another 2 miles to the NE corner of the property. Property is located along 294th St.  


Agricultural pursuits occupy most of the activity surrounding the farm. The area is comprised of productive farmland and exceptional grazing land. Added notoriety stems from the LaCreek National Wildlife Refuge, a 16,000-acre enclave of big game and waterfowl, located a few miles east of the farm. 

Wildlife in the area is abundant and the Reno Ranch farm is no exception. Mule and whitetailed deer along with pheasants, grouse and the usual small game inhabit the property.

There are no irrigation wells located on the property. There are irrigation wells in the vicinity, however no representation is made as to the likelihood of irrigation. Prospective buyers should conduct their own due diligence as to the prospects of irrigation.  


Operation: The farm has been operated in a no-till cropping program and holds base acres for Wheat (328.05), Barley (10.72), Oats (1.53).
